In a surprise announcement today Nikon revealed their plan to manufacture a mirrorless adapter for DSLR cameras. Their representative A. P. Rilfool said that this was an answer to the complete meltdown of DSLR sales during the Coronavirus outbreak. Ms. Rilfool said that 'This adapter is in response to customers regretting their purchases of old school fuddy duddy DSLR cameras and wishing to embrace the new cool mirrorless cameras technology.' There are no pictures of the new adapter, but Nikon were apparently keen to announce it ASAP to stop a glut of their DSLR's being offered for sale for next to nothing at charity shops and car boot sales.
The prototypes are already being tested by Tony and Chelsea Northrup. Chelsea confirmed this on their blog by writing 'I used to be so ashamed using my D850, that I had used masking tape to hide the logo on the camera and I was, in fact, planning to convert it into a flower pot. However with this new adapter I can now use the camera again. The redundant mirror also comes in handy when I do my makeup for our videos'
