I saw a ridiculous article a few days ago which was entitled 'The best camera for landscape photography.' Basically some nonsense created to fill a space. Like sawdust in the writers head. The real answer is to paraphrase an old photographic motto. 'The best camera for landscape photography is the camera you have with you.' The above were taken with a selection of cameras. Leica M10, Leica Q2, Olympus E-M1X, Panasonic G9, Panasonic GX9 and a Canon M50. What camera (and what lens) took what picture is totally irrelevant as it's the composition, the execution and the editing that's the important thing.
I've been shooting landscape ever since I started taking photographs seriously and I've lost count of the number of cameras I have used to create the images and I certainly can't remember what took what. What I can remember however is what it felt to be there and every time I look at a picture I can instantly recall the weather, the temperature and the location. And I know that each time I pressed the shutter I felt a tingle of excitement. For me that's what photography should be about, the creative process and the sheer pleasure of being outdoors in a great place with great light and the way the light and the land interact to create a once in a lifetime moment.
