Nikon 1 10-100mm VR PD zoom - hand held auto everything video and zooming test.
Well this is not so great. The VR in the lens works amazingly well for stills, but not so much for video. Some systems, notably the current Olympus image stabilisation, work very well for hand-held video, but it seems the Nikon 1 V1 isn't as good. Even with the 1" sensor there is focus hunting and there is shake that the lens system and IS added in iMovie can't compensate for. Some cameras 'float' in the hand with a steadicam feel but this one doesn't.
I will do a 'proper' tripod mounted video test for the lens at a later date.
