Olympus 75mm f/1.8 - Comparison with Nikon APS-C

This is a comparison between an image shot with an Olympus OM-D + the 75mm f/1.8 lens at f/8 and ISO 200 and an image shot with a Nikon D3200 + 28-300mm at 98mm, f/8 and ISO 100. Both were processed identically in ACR in Photoshop CS6.

The m4/3 file was upsized to 24MP, the same as the Nikon and there is a 100% blow up comparison below.

The full-size jpg. of the top image can be downloaded here.

Interesting that in the blowup the Olympus image seems to control dynamic range better, and resolve (very slightly) more detail, even when upsized and double the ISO value. Goes to show I think, just how the old "truths and certainties" about m4/3 and APS-C sensors are constantly needing to be reassessed, particularly when lens quality is factored in.
