Apparently some NEX-7's are selling for very inflated prices on ebay. I would mention that when I enlarge my NEX-5n images up to the same size as pictures taken on my a77, which has the same sensor as the NEX-7, I'm very hard pressed to tell the difference.
I just hope the camera lives up to the hype for those people too impatient to wait. The Fuji X100 went through much the same thing and ended up as what it is. A pretty decent 12MP fixed lens compact.
I'm actually quite interested to find out if the NEX-7 sensor is radically different from the a77, because to be honest, if its not, I may give it a miss.
