Sony NEX-5n 55-210mm zoom lens
Bot of these lenses arrived together, so I'm going to review them together. As usual this will be close to a "real-time" user experience, with me relating how I get on with on with them as I use them. As ever, what you read in the earlier parts may get changed later, but thats how I like to do it.
The first thing to say, is that yet again these NEX lenses have absolutely superb build quality and manufacturing. The zoom and focusing rings on the 55-210mm are perfectly weighted for me, with just the right amount of play and stiffness. There is no zoom creep here, nor does it feel as if there is any likelihood of any. I love retro, but I also have a soft spot for sleek and modern too. These are definitely "super sleek" lenses. I actually think they are quite beautiful. They feel metal, though I have no idea what they are actually made of. They are also very light yet feel really substantial and a delight to hold.
First indications are that they are both good performers in the optical department. The sun has just come out so I'm off to try them out.
