Over at 43Rumors there's a piece on the Voigtlander 25mm f/0.95. http://www.43rumors.com/new-voigtlander-25mm-f0-95-tests-gh2nokton-almost-as-good-as-the-leica-m9m-mount-lens/
The review itself is at:- http://www.3dkraft.de/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=66:nokton-review
There's an interesting quote:-
“Another strength is the extreme sharpness that the GH2 with it’s new 16 MP sensor can deliver through this lens which already comes close to the results that I reached when I spent some time with the Leica M9 and two excellent Leica M lenses.” Don’t tell this to your Leica friends…they spent a lot of money for for their cameras and lenses…"
While I appreciate just how good both the GH2 and the Voigtlander lens are - could this be true? I haven't as yet done a direct comparison between the two so I decided to put one together.
I used my Leica M9 fitted with a Zeiss 50mm f/2 planar to compare with the GH2 + Voigtlander Nokton. Both images were shot at f/8 with the cameras on a tripod. The full-size pictures are at the top of the page and if you click through to flickr you can view them at a larger size.
Below is a detail crop from the same image.
This picture is representative of the results that I got with several shots. While the GH2 + Nokton is certainly close in terms of sharpness, the Leica M9 + Zeiss still wins out, but not by much.
